Dr. Powers, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Powers grew up in upstate New York, and she instantly knew from a young age that she wanted to be a vet. She loved the wildlife and had the pleasure of being around some farm animals as well as dogs and cats. In addition to her favorite dogs and cats, she had horses, goats, geese, rabbits and chickens.

She obtained an Associates in Animal Science from State University of New York College of Technology at Delhi and a Bachelors of Science from Cornell University. She worked as a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) both in the laboratory animal science
department at SUNY College of Technology at Delhi, as well as in general practice prior to veterinary school.

She went on to achieve her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in Massachusetts in 2005.
She made her way to the West Coast with acceptance and completion of a 1 year rotating internship in small animal internal medicine, surgery, emergency medicine, and oncology at a private specialty referral hospital in the East San Francisco Bay Area. She worked in the Bay Area doing emergency medicine, general practice, and did high volume spay/neutering in the shelters.

She came to San Diego in 2010 and has continued working in small animal private practice, doing relief work, urgent care, and loves dentistry and surgery.
She would love to treat your furry loved one and offer the best care possible.
