Dr. Hare, DVM

Dr. Jake Hare grew up in Point Loma and made the choice to become a veterinarian in his freshman year of high school. He actually started his career as a kennel assistant in 2004! He attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo earning degrees in Biology and Modern Languages & Literatures before continuing his journey to UC Davis' School of Veterinary Medicine. After completing an externship at the Franklin Park Zoo in Boston, he ultimately decided to stick with companion animal medicine. We are so excited to have Dr. Hare join our Amici family as the pioneer of our exotic medicine department! His special interests include surgery and neurology. Outside of the office, Dr. Hare enjoys the beach, reading, snowboarding, and playing Ultimate Frisbee. He currently shares his home with his kitty, Auri.
